The First Large Middleware
Base in China Begins Construction (2002-12-22)

The
tablet of Shandong Province Middleware Base, the first large
middleware base in China, was uncovered in CVIC SE Software
Park, on Dec. 22nd, 2002. It indicated that China's Software
Industry has taken a substantial step to develop self-copyrighted
infrastructure software products.
Shandong Middleware Base, covering a land area of about 70
thousand square metres, was estimated to have invested 1.20
million Yuan RMB. The base will build an international-level
network and development environment for developers to communicate,
share knowledge, and work cooperatively. The base will also
have an international-level middleware R&D center, testing
center and training center.
It was estimated that the base would bring
a software sales increase nearly 5,000 million Yuan RMB
for the Shandong Province and the Chinese software industry.
