CVIC Kunshan Software Center's (Kunshan Center, for short) inauguration ceremony was held on Oct. 20, 2004. Rational Test Center, Soochow University CVIC Software Project Institute and Soochow University Teaching Practice Base, which were delegated by IBM, were unveiled together.

Kunshan Center was built on the Yandeng Lake side. From the center, it's only a half hour drive to Shanghai; the largest city in China. The center occupies 200 acres of land, and will be built to become the world's first-class "software factory", and further become an export software R&D base.

This is the first Rational Test Center in China, it will utilize IBM SDP development platform and IBM Rational leading development technology. The center will draw support from CVIC's abundant trade application experience, supply of high quality test training, consultation, service for clients, and guaranteed software development quality.

Soochow University CVIC Software Project Institute is a cooperation between CVIC and Soochow University. It is also the first cooperative institute between a school and an enterprise in the Jiangsu province. This institute will be devoted to cultivate internationalization, compounding type, high level software project technology and management talents. In the meantime, it will provide software project training, international authentication training, and various IT training, such as E-government, E-business, and network technology.
