Master of International Project Management Brings New Idea

Mr. Adesh Jain, President of IPMA (International Project Management Association) visited CVIC SE again and gave a lecture entitled Nurturing Leadership through Project Thinking on July 26, 2006. Mr. Jing Xinhai, Chairman of the Board and President, Ms. Cheng Jianping, Vice President met with Mr. Adesh Jain and held a talk.

As CVIC SE’s old friend, Mr. Adesh Jain has visited CVIC SE many times since the mid 1990s. Over that time, Mr. Adesh Jain has given a lot of useful and practical advice on development, especially on building a project management system for CVIC SE. Through long-time closed communications and cooperation with IPMA and many other domestic and international consulting institutions, based on dozens of years’ practice and experience, CVIC SE built its own management system taking the Management Triangle as its core and laying a solid foundation for its stable and healthy development. In 2005, CVIC SE was greatly honored to achieve the status of Prize Winner at the "IPMA International Project Management Award". Thereby, CVIC SE became the first and the only Chinese enterprise granted this prize till now.

As the author of Project Thinking, Mr. Adesh Jain gave a lecture on the topic of Redefined Project Management and Project Thinking at CVIC SE this time. He pointed out that some abstract content such as Dream, Vision and Strategies can bee seen as Project, and some concrete content such as Awakening Dream, Realizing Vision and Delivering Strategies also can bee seen as Management. There are 4 processes from Project to Management: Initiation, Planning, Implementation and Optimization.

After sharing his new thoughts about project management, Mr. Adesh Jain analyzed how to avoid value reduction during the process of project management, gave the reason why Project Thinking is much better than Operational Thinking in regards to facing changes, and explained why the relations between Responsibility and Freedom one could have within a company must be balanced.

Mr. Adesh Jain also answered many questions about project management asked by the staff of CVIC SE and provided a lot of helpful advice. At last, Mr. Adesh Jain hoped CVIC SE would continue taking advantage of project management, and strive to become a great, international software company in the near future!

Ms. Cheng Jianping, Vice President along with many other managers and project managers from the different divisions attended this lecture.
