On June 19th, 2007, The Signature Ceremony for the Research Cooperation of Software Technology between China and France was held successfully in the Shandong Province. This great event witnessed the cooperation of the middleware area within CVIC SE, the Thales Group (Fortune 500), INRIA (Institut National des Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique), BUAA (Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics) and NUDT (National University of Defense Technology).

Wang Junmin the Vice Governor of the Shandong Province, Li Shiying the Vice Director of Office of Shandong provincial government, Sun Zhiheng the Director-general of the Shandong Information Industry Department and other high provincial government officials attended this ceremony. Vice Governor Wang Junmin met with the Thales Group Deputy Executive Officer Dr. Jean-Luc Lambla, the President of CVIC SE Dr. Jing Xinhai ,the Vice President of CVIC SE Ms. Cheng Jianping, Prof. Wang Huaimin from NUDT and Prof. Ma Dianfu from BUAA before the ceremony.

According to the cooperation agreement, which is one part of the OW2 Consortium cooperation planning, all parties will collaborate in many aspects, such as with middleware, ITS, E-government and so on. It is aiming at doing technology exchanges, sharing resources and co-working on projects.

The strong combination of these parties will promote the development of middleware technologies and standards, which is going to enhance the competitiveness of middleware products in China.
